Reese's Peanut Butter Blossoms

Something you should know about me: I am a clinical shopaholic. It's true, I admit it. I have a taste for fine things. And I want those fine things to be mine.
Unfortunately that means that money slips out of my pocket into cash registers at alarming speed.
It also means I don't use about 50% of what I have. So, I cleaned out my closet. And I ended up with enough clothes and knickknacks to host my own garage sale. Scary, right? I need help.
Although, including the leftover clothes I sold to Plato's Closet, I made $150. Not bad, not bad.
At my garage sale I decided to do a little advertising for my blog with the aid of bribery via free cookies...

I created my peanut butter cookie recipe last Christmas to make Hershey Peanut Butter Blossom Christmas cookies. But since they are my favorite kind of cookie (Excepting perhaps Chocolate Chip Cookies), I decided to give it a twist to make it less festive, but in a different sense of the word... more festive...

Reese's Peanut Butter Blossoms
What you will need:

1/2 Cup Butter Flavored Shortening
1 Cup Crunchy Peanut Butter (Or smooth, whichever.)
1/3 Cup White Sugar (Plus a little extra to coat cookies in)
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Egg
2 Tablespoons Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup All-purpose Flour (Oat Flour for Gluten Free!)
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 Dozen Reese's Cups

What you will do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Unwrap Reese's Cups and set aside
Beat together shortening, peanut butter, and sugar until fluffy (It will also turn tan instead of brown)
Mix in egg, water, and vanilla
In separate mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, add to wet mixture
Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and grease lightly
Using a tablespoon, create round balls of cookie dough, coat with white sugar, and arrange on cookie sheet
Bake 6-9 minutes or until edges only slightly begin to brown
Remove cookies from oven and immediately press one Reese's Cup onto each cookie
Let cool or devour warm and melty. The choice is yours.
