I have walls in my room. Four walls. A floor. A bed. A desk. And four walls. "Well that's not anything special," you say, "We've all got walls."
Ahhhh, but of those four walls, one whole wall was EMPTY. A big, fat, ugly, useless wall just sitting there. That wall was cold. He didn't want anything to do with anyone or anything. He just sat there with his blank expression, and when I spoke to him, it was like talking to a wall. But no more. Now when I talk to him, he replies with my own lips, reflected in mirrors framed by gold.
Yes, I collected many ugly picture frames and framed mirrors from goodwill of various ugly colors. I hid them and waited for the perfect number of frames to build up under my bed, and then I painted them all Antique Gold, and now I have a Shabby Chic, rustic antique-y wall that is BEAUTIFUL .

Here are some tips for painting your frames:

Cover the mirror with a square of paper. Cut a little rectangle tab out before you tape down the paper, that way you'll be able to tear off the tape
easily.
Get your paint from Hobby Lobby. Use the coupon at the top of the hobbylobby.com Website. You can do it on your mobile phone at the store too. It's always at the top of the page and you get 40% off one item every time you go!
I use this spongy dude, but you can use a regular paint brush too. I just find this little guy works well. Paint on a thick coat! If you're frame is finished wood you'll only need one thick coat (It looks rustic if the wood shows through a little in places), and if your frames have been painted previously, you might need up to 4 coats. Sand frames lightly first either way.
Let dry out in the sunshine! In the sun they'll only take about ten minutes to dry. And then.......
Hang them up on that stubborn ugly wall!! Hold them up to the wall first and make sure that's where you want them to stay, because the nails are permanent. As I learned the hard way... I had to cover up many holes with the big frames.. heh heh.
