Guys, I really wanted a cute little Photo Album to keep my pictures from my trip to Germany in. So naturally I went to the store to buy one. And I found an adorable one! But the price was not so adorable. So how can we make our own Photo Album without having to break open the piggy bank? The answer is surprisingly easy...
What you will need:And old binder (I used a mini one I got from Goodwill)
Patterned Craft Paper (2 for cover and back, 1 for globe)
1 Sheet Parchment Paper
Album Refill Pages (Any craft store)
Mod Podge
Gold Acrylic Paint
Metallic Sharpie
Exacto Knife (Or just regular scissors)
What you will do:
- Trace the front and back of the binder onto patterned craft paper and cute it out. (I find an Exacto Knife works really well. Just place paper on cardboard so you don't cut your work space)
- Use spongy brush and paint the cover of the binder with Mod Podge making sure to reach all the corners
- Press craft paper onto front and back pressing it all over with your hands for a good seal
- Use a pencil compass, or anything round that is the size you would like for the globe, trace and cut it out
- On my globe I penciled in the words, "Not all those who wander are lost", and then went over it with a metallic sharpie
- Using the cut out globe as your scale, pencil a globe holder...frame... thing, whatever they're called, onto the parchment
- Cut it out
- Paint it gold
- Paint the backs of the globe thing and the globe face with Mod Podge and press them onto the cover of your album
- Afterword I decided the globe should be framed in gold. To do this, trace the globe on parchment paper, then draw a circle around that. Cut it out and paint it gold. Mod Podge the back and press it onto the globe.
- Insert Photo Album Refill Pages
- Fill with your favorite photos
- Show off your photos, and your crafty abilities to your friends
Have fun. |
Cute.
