Healing Tea

There's a summer cold going around. I hate summer colds. It doesn't seem as bad in the winter somehow. You're not supposed be sick in summer. Summer is for smelling flowers, not sitting inside wrapped in twenty blankets.
I know exactly how I caught this cold
, and it was totally worth it. My sister and I went to stay with my cousin and his wife to help them out with their new baby, and with their 2-year-old son, Lukas.
Lukas is the most adorable little ray of sunshine you've ever seen, and he's super smart.
I felt so bad that he didn't feel well. nothing is more sad than a little toddler with a cold.
One day during our stay I woke up and Lukas was lying next to me and as I opened my eyes he these hilarious words to me,
"I will always find you. And I will always attack you."
He "attacks" me by cuddling with me, bumping heads with me, and kissing me. It's adorable. But unfortunately a wonderful way of spreading a cold, which is exactly what this adorable runny-nosed two-year-old did.

So I texted my friend because I know his mom (Momma James) knows a bunch of home remedies. He said to either drink warm honey-lemon water or gargle with coconut oil for fifteen minutes.

The coconut oil gargling was less than appealing. However, drinking warm water with lemon juice and honey in it didn't sound like my cup of tea either.
Which reminded me of how I hate tea. Which reminded me that I love Tazo Passion and Wild Sweet Orange tea because they don't really taste like tea at all. They are delicious. And I didn't think I would mind at all a summery cup of fruity lemon tea with honey.

I boiled the water in my favorite little teapot but I was preparing myself for disappointment. I'd never found a home remedy for a sore throat that worked longer than a couple minutes. Even with cough drops, I had to eat one after another to keep feeling the soothing effects.

But as I sat drinking this delicious concoction, I forgot all about my sore throat and stuffy nose. The steam cleared my nose and the tea soothed my aching throat. I was sad when I finished it, it was so delicious.
I waited for the effects of the tea to start wearing off. But they didn't. I no longer felt like there were a thousand bees stinging my throat. I stopped coughing. It hadn't even worn off at bedtime. I made myself another cup before bed and woke up feeling amazing.
