"Abby, put away your recipes, they are going to get dirty," says my sister, the Perfect Recipe Card Preservation Queen.
"But I'm not done with them!"
But the queen is proved right every time. My recipe cards are continually being bamboozled by flour, eggs, coffee, etc., etc. I mean, maybe you want to take a break making cookies? What do you do with the recipe? What if something's in the oven but you need to make the frosting afterword? You still need the recipe out!
So I took up a strange habit.
Every time I wanted to keep a recipe out until I was done with them, I would stick them in my succulent plant. Everyone laughed at me. They said, "Oh, that weird girl who keeps her recipes in a succulent plant, she's so weird!"
But I got to thinking... weren't all brilliant ideas under-appreciated in their day?
Then I realized... this was a fantastic idea. And I needed to make a thing out of it. Let the people laugh. We'll see who's recipes are nice and shiny in the end.

So tape a rectangle onto your pot and press down the tape firmly.
Using black acrylic paint, fill in the rectangle
Let dry for 2 minutes (Yes, only 2 minutes), remove the tape
While the paint is still relatively wet, press on stickers
Transplant your succulent, or any plant which is suited to support recipes in their leaves/branches
Try to take pictures of the completed project, but have your cat get in the way
