Paper Mache Golden Globe

This was such a fun craft for me. I adore paper mache projects. And this is the easiest of the easiest, and here's why:
You don't have to use a balloon and pop it after.
That's too hard, we don't like that.
We are using a Styrofoam ball instead. Because it's easy, and because it's more sturdy.

I am in love with globes. And luckily for me, a huge portion of the Pinterest population is as well, so I get to feast my eyes every day on endless pages of globes. I've redecorated my bedroom with only globes, globe chairs, globes instead of doors-
 No, I'm not that obsessed.
But seriously, I look at globes a lot on Pinterest, but I always wanted to see a paper mache globe! But, alas, I never have. So I've taken it upon myself to give the people what they've always wanted.

This is what you always wanted... isn't it?

 So, let's get to it.

What you will need:
Styrofoam Ball
Gold ribbon/twine
An unused staple
Printed paper (2 Sheets)

Paper Mache

2 Cup Water
1 Cups Flour

What you will do...

Whisk together until smooth.

Tear some printed paper into strips

Tie a little loop of golden twine or ribbon. Take a staple out of your stapler and secure the twine

Use the first strip of paper to secure the ribbon.

Keep dipping the paper strips an pressing them onto the ball. The first few strips are hard to get to stay on, because they don't have anything to hold on to.

But just keep going, they'll start sticking to each other

Place on hard surface (I put tinfoil on the floor) and let dry completely

Yeah, I started out with three, but my sister's dog ate the one on the right. :(
Now it's time to paint the continents. Just the basic shapes, you don't have to be an artist. Just make sure you paint Michigan in, because it looks cool and because I live there.
Use metallic gold acrylic paint and allow paint to dry completely. Outline with a black permanent marker.

TA DA! Yay! They're so pretty.
